The English Program is happy to welcome you to the Discovery Camp. In three fun days, you will discover many new things about the world and your place in it. You will learn about teamwork, eating healthy, recycling, and what life is like in America.
โครงการ EP. ยนดีต้อนรับทุกท่านเข้าร่วม โครงการ the Discovery Camp ตลอดทั้ง 3 วันนี้ท่านจะได้พบกับสิ่งใหม่ๆ มากมาย ท่านจะได้รู้จักการทำงานเป็นทีม การกินอาหารที่เป็นประโยชน์ เรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับการ RECYCLE และการทำงานเป็นทีม

We will play games, sing songs, eat delicious food, and spend time together while we practice English.

11:00....Orientation at Main Hall (welcome, songs, divide groups, discuss events with students, etc)

Teacher Ben and Teacher Sue talk to students about the benefits of eating healthy fruits and vegetables. Students prepare healthy international treats to eat during the workshop.

Teacher Patti and Teacher Sara guide students on an imaginary tour of America.  Students see, taste, and discover a few of the many cultures and places in America.
 
STUDENTS LEARN ABOUT:
The White House, Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C.
The Statue of Liberty in New York City.
“Cowboy life” in Oklahoma
The many cultures in California
ACTIVITIES:
Students see pictures of places in America.
Students color the state they visited in their passport.
Students have a stick horse race and eat homemade cinnamon rolls in Oklahoma.
Students go to a birthday fiesta in Los Angeles.

Teacher Seth and Teacher Adam talk to students about things that can be recycled and reused, and how to reduce trash. Students learn about helping the environment by recycling.

Different methods of recycling, reducing and reusing
ACTIVITIES:
Talk about what recycling, reducing, and reusing means to the Earth
Play a relay race game
Go out and find man-made objects in nature and determine if they can be recycled or reused.

Interesting Facts about Recycling:

Plastic can take up to 500 years to decompose.

Plastic bags/garbage thrown into the ocean kill as many as 1,000,000 sea creatures every year!

Up to 60% of the trash that ends up in the trashcan could be recycled.

As much as 50% of waste in the average trashcan could be composted.

1 recycled glass bottle would save enough energy to power a computer for 25 minutes.

1 recycled plastic bottle would save enough energy to power a 60-watt light bulb for 3 hours.

1 recycled tin can would save enough energy to power a television for 3 hours.
